Available Positions

  • The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the main form of communication between Together’s staff and its participants and guests walking through the front door of the Choice Pantry in Council Bluffs. The Communication Specialist will facilitate the operations of the Front Desk, through interactions with incoming participants and guests, answering phones, communicating with staff, providing accurate information, and ensuring the front desk has the supplies it needs. A successful candidate will conduct themselves with an elevated level of trauma informed care, courteousness, and empathy.

  • To attend eviction court and attempt to assist the individuals and/or households pending the court ruling. Use a strength-based approach that utilizes conversation and empowerment methods to help resolve a household’s housing crisis or quickly connect them to existing emergency or crisis housing services, by working alongside the participant in an empowering manner. This conversation is to explore with the participant a creative, flexible, safe, and cost-effective solution to quickly resolve the participant’s housing crisis-even if just temporarily-with limited or no financial support. This service is provided regardless of perceived needs and barriers.

  • The Triage Specialist will be responsible for the triage of participants from the Crisis Engagement crisis line and Together’s website emails. The Triage Specialist will provide timely intervention and support to participants seeking services. The Triage Specialist will meet with individuals either in person or via the telephone and gather information about participants' needs and current resources in the community. They will assist the participants in gaining access to needed services and offer support as the individual engages in the services they have chosen.

  • The InReach Engagement Specialist will identify and build rapport with homeless individuals and families living on the street or in shelter. The goal is to assist participants in breaking the cycle of homelessness by accessing necessary support services. Work with the participant to provide individualized support and help each participant develop a plan to address their barriers and try to increase their income. The InReach Engagement Specialist will need to have the ability to identify each area in which participants will need assistance to accomplish the agreed upon goals and objectives.

  • The primary purpose of this position is to provide excellent customer service to participants utilizing the Choice Pantry. Excellent customer service includes showing respect to all participants, answering questions, facilitating participants’ exit from the Pantry, and stocking Pantry shelves. The Pantry Specialist also helps to ensure food safety standards and cleanliness are being adhered to.

  • The primary purpose of this position is to provide security for the agency and to give oversight to any additional contracted security for the agency. The Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring all participants coming to Together to utilize its services as well as all guests that visit Together will conduct themselves appropriately to ensure a safe environment for all. The Security Officer will also be responsible for monitoring the exterior of Together, including the parking lots and community gardens (as applicable, depending on location) to ensure safe surroundings. Secondarily, and as time allows, the Security Officer may engage in supporting Choice Pantry operations.

  • The Systems Administrator will be responsible for facilitating and supporting the day-to-day IT operations of Together. This includes customer service aspects of prioritizing, problem solving, and communicating. In addition, this position will promote the safety and security of Together’s IT operations. This position will work closely with the Director of Operations as well as the Chief Operating Officer.
