Intake Specialist (Council Bluffs)

POSITION: Intake Specialist

REPORTS TO: Pantry Supervisor

COMPENSATION STATUS: Part-time, hourly

HOURS: Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 12:30p – 5:30p; Tuesday/Thursday: 2:30p – 7:30p

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

The primary purpose of this position is to review intake paperwork of each participant for the Choice Pantry, provide community resources as needed, and accurately enter data into the database at our Choice Pantry located in Council Bluffs, IA. This is a part-time, approximately 25 hour/week, position with the following schedule: Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 12:30p – 5:30p and Tuesday/Thursday: 2:30p – 7:30p.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Review intake paperwork of each participant wanting to utilize the Choice Pantry to ensure completeness

- Establish dialogue with participants to understand needs

- Provide community resources to participants as needed

- Accurately enter data from intake form into online database

- Provide support to Choice Pantry operations as requested

- Provide support to front desk operations as requested

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Hearing and vision must be correctable to normal ranges: Read documents, computer screen, answer phones, and communicate in person

- Dexterity: Utilizing phone, typing, and writing

 

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

- Strong communication skills

- Ability to work with a wide variety of people

- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

- The ability to stay calm in escalating situations

- Ability to operate office equipment and computers
