The mission of Together is to prevent and end hunger and homelessness. We accomplish our mission through intensive case management services, coupled with financial resources, and collaborative partnerships to deliver the array of services needed to support our participants moving on to self-sufficiency.


Position Summary

The Accounting Clerk is a competent professional member of the Together team. Under the oversight of the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Clerk will assume responsibility for accurate data entry of accounts payable and deposits for day-to-day operations of Together. The Accounting Clerk will assist in a variety of accounting and administrative related functions. The Accounting Clerk will conduct him/herself ethically and in a manner that reflects well on the organization. This is a 24-hour/week position. Preferred workdays are Mondays, Wednesdays Thursdays but some flexibility can be given on work schedule.


Primary Position Responsibilities

1. Ensure all payables are entered into the accounting software (NetSuite) in an accurate and timely manner

2. Enter donations and deposits into the accounting software (NetSuite) in an accurate and timely manner

3. Maintain the donor data base

4. Print and mail monthly thank you letters to donors

5. Assist in tracking the use of restricted grant funds

6. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system

7. Assist Chief Operating Officer and Accounting Manager as needed



1. Associate degree in accounting preferred (however, significant accounting-related experience will be considered in lieu of an associate degree)

2. Proficiency in MS Office and MS Excel

3. Strong communication skills, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

4. Acts with integrity in all business activities

5. Be organized, timely, and have an attention to detail

6. Ability to work with interruptions
