POSITION: Communication & Intake Specialist
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
COMPENSATION STATUS: Full-time, hourly
HOURS: Monday – Thursday: 8:30a-4:30p; Friday 8:30a-2:00p

 

POSITION PURPOSE:
There are two primary purposes of this position: 1) to serve as the main form of communication between Together’s
staff and its participants and guests walking through the front door and 2) to review intake paperwork of each
participant for the Pantry and accurately enter date into the online database.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
– Answering incoming phone calls, providing accurate and appropriate information, and transferring phone calls
– Handling all walk-in guests, answering their questions, and providing accurate and appropriate information
– Check-in appointments with Together’s programs and notify the appropriate staff
– Assist the Operations Manager with the production and distribution of material to be distributed in the lobby
– Notify the Operations Manager when supplies for front desk are low and need to be ordered
– Establish and maintain front desk and front lobby cleanliness and organization
– Provide training to front desk volunteers, as requested by the Operations Manager, and report any performance
issues by volunteers to the Operations Manager
– Review intake paperwork of each participant wanting to utilize the Pantry to ensure completeness
– Accurately enter data from intake form into online database
– Provide support to Pantry operations as requested

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
– Hearing and vision must be correctable to normal ranges: Read documents, computer screen, answer phones,
and communicate in person
– Dexterity: Utilizing phone, typing, and writing

 

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
– Strong communication skills
– Ability to work with a wide variety of people
– Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
– The ability to stay calm in crisis situations
– Ability to operate office equipment and computers
